Seek out and find a mentor to help you build your home business! You will find most entrepreneurs are happy to share ideas with you and tell you about their journey to success. A great mentor can share tips, warn you of pitfalls, and help you to develop your business plan. In addition to the valuable resource of their experience, mentors serve as the first branch of your networking tree.

To find a mentor:

• Ask friends and family for references. Almost everyone knows someone who owns their own business! Make note of business women in your field of interest, but even unrelated small businesses can have much in common.

• Check with your local chamber of commerce and attend social and neteworking events sponsored by the chamber for area businesses. It's a fabulous way to meet business leaders in your community.
